No beating this deep heating that will keep repeating

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Cloud cover and rain kept us from climbing into the 90s area wide on Monday and although that could happen again Tuesday, temperatures are currently forecast to climb near 100 degrees.

So, let’s start off with our heat alerts. Central and southern portions of the state could see feel like temperatures well above 100. Further expansion west, north and east is certainly possible as well.

Mid to upper 90s are forecast across the state alone.

Once again though, shower and thunderstorm activity is possible heading into Tuesday and we have already seen plenty of rain across parts of the state Monday. Timing things out will be difficult as different models are showing different scenarios regarding rainfall. Regardless the atmosphere is filled with moisture, and we have plenty of humidity at the surface. This is to say we continue to have the potential for rain not only this evening, but into Tuesday as well…
