Man attacked officer with mop handle at north Lincoln park, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Friday after assaulting an officer at a park in north Lincoln, police say.

Just before 1 a.m., an officer approached 54-year-old Ronald Burns at Pentzer Park near North 27th and Fair streets.

Burns had been at the park after hours and appeared “highly intoxicated,” according to LPD…
