West A Street in Lincoln now open after over 5 years of closure

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – After more than five years of construction, West A Street is finally open to traffic.

Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) announced this week that the section between Southwest 40th Street and South Coddington Avenue has reopened, marking a major milestone in one of the city’s largest-ever infrastructure projects.

The $20 million West A Street Improvement Project that began in 2019, set out to transform the road from a narrow two-lane road into a modern street while focusing on safety and accessibility.
