Lincoln housing market shows resilience amid national trends

Lincoln, NE — The housing market in Lincoln is experiencing robust growth, with homes staying on the market longer due to an increase in available properties, according to local experts.

“There are more to choose from for buyers, it’s not like during COVID where if a house came on the market you needed to take off work, get over there as soon as possible, use an escalation clause to secure that property,” said, Katie Kroger, Mortgage loan officer Katie Kroger.

While some buyers may feel like homes are sitting longer, the average time a house spends on the market in Lincoln and southeast Nebraska has only shifted slightly. “We’re talking about an average of 17 to 18 days,” said Russell Meyer with Nebraska Realty. “That’s still relatively fast and shows demand remains steady.”…
