LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Efforts to restore power following severe storms over the weekend are ongoing across southeast Nebraska including Lincoln.
As of Monday afternoon, Lincoln Electric System (LES) reports just over 700 customers remain without power. At the height of the outage on Saturday morning, 33,000 LES customers lost power.
Norris Public Power District customers also continue to experience outages, with over 500 affected, primarily in Seward, Saline, and Thayer counties. Officials say there still have about 20 poles down on Highway 5 north of Deshler. However, they anticipate completing work by the end of Monday.
