Lincoln Public Schools cleaning up storm damage before students arrive

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – As Lincoln kids head back to school this week, many parents have expressed concern over the conditions of school grounds damaged by the weekend storms.

Lincoln Public Schools tells 10/11 that several of its buildings suffered some storm damage, estimating that there were 18 locations without power, 15 with significant tree damage, six with fence damage and four with roof damage.

But over the weekend, crews worked to make repairs and have addressed “all major storm damage to school properties,” according to a district statement. Officials add that school buildings and grounds are safe to welcome students back as scheduled…
