LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Two standout leaders were recognized at Lincoln Public Schools Board of Education meeting on Monday, after they won statewide awards earlier this year.
The first was Josh Jones, director of The Career Academy, which partners LPS with Southeast Community College to offer classes to junior and senior students and prepare them for future jobs. Jones won the Nebraska Educators Rising Administrator of the Year Award, for his work helping students develop their skills for careers in education.
“I get to be the icing on the cake in many cases,” Jones said. “My colleagues and peers get to help build the cake, we get to decorate the cake really well and see students move onto their career goals and start that while they’re still in high school.”…
