Lincoln, NE — Chief Deputy Ben Houchin, a 32-year veteran of the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, has announced his candidacy for sheriff, challenging Jay Pitts. Houchin, who has served as chief deputy for five years, has the endorsement of current Sheriff Terry Wagner.
“I have a lot of strong knowledge on the day-to-day operations of the sheriff’s office. I love the place, I love the people, I love serving,” said Houchin.
