NSP Troopers Arrest One After Motorcycle Pursuit

LINCOLN, Neb. – Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol arrested one person after a pursuit overnight into Friday, Aug. 22, in eastern Nebraska.

At approximately 11:45 p.m. Thursday, a trooper saw a motorcycle speeding, with no license plates, on eastbound I-80 near the 56th Street interchange in Lincoln. The trooper attempted a traffic stop. The rider initially slowed down to approximately 75 miles per hour but refused to pull over. After a few minutes, the motorcycle accelerated and fled at a high rate of speed. The trooper initiated a pursuit.

The motorcycle reached speeds above 150 miles per hour and passed multiple vehicles on the shoulder as it continued fleeing eastbound on I-80. The NSP AirWing was activated and flew to the area east of Lincoln. The motorcycle exited I-80 and continued fleeing on northbound Highway 66. The NSP helicopter took over the pursuit from the air and the trooper on the ground discontinued the pursuit…
