Report Card: Huskers 20, Cincinnati Bearcats 17

New year; same ‘ol (bleep).

Two takes on that:

  1. I was reading all of the talk this offseason with all of the hype and optimism. Matt Rhule’s third year, Dylan Raiola being a returning starter and no longer a true freshman. Exciting additions from the transfer portal. I wanted to believe. Then the game kicked off, and for the 11th year in a row, we saw a team that was underperforming their talent level. AGAIN.
  2. It’s just the first game. Lighten up, Francis.

Because it’s too early to make definitive conclusions about the 2025 Huskers, we shouldn’t wallow in too much of the negativity. Doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t note it or raise our eyebrows, but let’s not overreact just yet. It’s still August, remember?
