Lincoln, Nebraska Weather: Flash Flood Watch in Effect Until 10 a.m. Monday

Lincoln, Neb. – Drivers in Lincoln and nearby counties face a flash flood risk early Monday as heavy rain lingers across southeast Nebraska. A Flood Watch remains in effect until 10 a.m., with low-lying roads and streams at greatest risk of overflow.

According to the National Weather Service in Omaha, steady moderate to heavy rainfall will persist through sunrise, leading to possible flash flooding across Lancaster, Saline, Seward, Butler and Saunders counties. Creeks and rivers, including Salt Creek near Lincoln and the Big Blue River in Saline County, could quickly rise with runoff.

In Lincoln, ponding water is already being reported on stretches of O Street and Cornhusker Highway, with slick conditions likely to worsen for the morning commute.
