‘Everything is on the table,’ UNL facing rising costs, $27.5 million to cut

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has faced year-after-year multimillion-dollar budget cuts since 2020.

The reason, according to outgoing Vice Chancellor of Business and Finance Mike Zeleny, is similar to the financial struggles of many families and organizations in a post-COVID-19 world.

“Anyone who looks closely at their own household budget, the university’s experiencing the same thing,” he said.
