A company that makes manhole covers, grates and other cast-iron products has announced plans to close its Lincoln plant, a move that will cost more than 100 people their jobs.
Neenah Foundry said in a news release that it will close its plant in northeast Lincoln by Dec. 31 and reopen it on Jan. 1 as a distribution center. A letter to state officials said 103 people will lose their jobs.
The company said in a news release that the decision to close came after “an extensive review of Neenah Foundry Company’s production facilities and the outlook of the municipal castings market.”…
