Hot and quiet start to the week will not last long

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Plenty of sunshine along with temperatures nearing 90 are possible over the next couple of days. By Wednesday, we fall right back into the 70s and are likely to see showers and storms.

Let’s start with what we are seeing Sunday evening. A Severe T-Storm Watch is in effect until 10 PM CDT for parts of central, southern and western Nebraska. Large hail and gusty winds are the main concerns, though an isolated tornado is possible.

Timing everything out, scattered storms will continue for the rest of this evening before drying out overnight tonight. Monday looks fairly quiet, but Tuesday afternoon and evening is looking quite active for rainfall.
