Community Action to Throw 60th Anniversary Block Party Sunday

For six decades Community Action Partnership of Lancaster and Saunders Counties has provided anti-poverty solutions for local families. On Sunday the organization will host a 60th anniversary community block party at the Bansal Family Home for Head Start at 18th and ‘K’ Streets.

“We’re excited to just create an opportunity for anyone who wants to come out and enjoy music and dancing,” says Communication and Development Director Jessie Hedrick. The event is free and will include snacks, games and a chance to support a Head Start classroom with your pocket change.

Hedrick says they are trying to raise $1,500 to support a community sponsored Head Start classroom for one year. “Classroom sponsors help provide the funding that is needed to keep classrooms stocked full of art supplies, diapers, fun games and activities.” She says the money helps support their teachers as they help little learners thrive…
