NEBRASKA CITY – In Otoe County court news, a Lincoln man is charged with attempting to assault officers along Highway 2, a Nebraska City man is charged with assault at NP Mart and police make additional possession arrests.
Alexander Banner, 37, of Lincoln is charged in Otoe County with attempted assault on an officer, resisting arrest and possession of cocaine on Sept. 8.
An Otoe County Sheriff’s Office affidavit says deputies were dispatched to Highway 2 on a report of erratic driving. The affidavit says a deputy found Banner sleeping in the back seat of a car that was parked on the driving lane west of Unadilla. The affidavit says Banner lunged at a deputy before he was handcuffed and threatened harm to a second deputy when being placed inside a patrol car.
