Authorities still searching for man who ran from drug bust near Greenwood

GREENWOOD, Neb. (KOLN) – Authorities provided an update on Monday on the search for one of the two men who ran from a traffic stop near Greenwood last week.

On Friday, investigators with the Lancaster County Criminal Interdiction Task Force conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 80 at 12:22 p.m. During the traffic stop, investigators found around 40 pounds of suspected methamphetamine along with a firearm.

Two men ran from the traffic stop, southbound into a wooded area. Officers secured the area and searched for the driver and passenger using a helicopter, drones and K9 units.

LSO said the driver, identified as Norberto Martinez, 25, of Omaha, was found and taken into custody a short time later, but the passenger could not be found and remains at large.

He was last seen wearing black pants, a jacket and was barefoot. People in the area are asked to avoid contact with him and call 911…
