Law students inspire middle schoolers during Constitution Week in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. — University of Nebraska-Lincoln law students engaged with Pound Middle School students during Constitution Week, celebrated annually from September 17-23. The event marks the signing of the U.S. Constitution in 1787 and aims to educate the public on its significance.

This year, law students visited middle schools to involve students in interactive activities about the Constitution. Anna Schroeder said, “I enjoyed hearing what all of their creative amendments would be to the Constitution. It was really fascinating how you could really see the ideals running along these students’ heads.”

The law students expressed surprise and admiration for the middle schoolers’ understanding and thoughtfulness regarding the Constitution. Grace Schleining said, “I was so surprised, pleasantly surprised of how much thought they were putting into this, and how much knowledge they had already.”…
