Injury crashes in Lincoln have dropped 28% over the last 25 years, even as the city’s population has grown by more than 30%, according to new “Safety by the Numbers” data from the Lincoln Police Department.
Public Information Manager Erika Thomas tells KLIN News the comparison looked at January through August data from 2000 to 2025. “The good news is while we have more people in the city, more drivers, we are having fewer injury crashes and we are seeing that progress on the streets of Lincoln,” Thomas said.
