LINCOLN–(KFOR Sept. 25)–A student at Lincoln Southeast High School is facing a felony charge, after a school resource officer this week found a disassembled gun in his backpack on the school’s campus.
Court documents say the 16-year-old was arrested for possessing a firearm on school property on Tuesday afternoon, after being found in a parking lot on the west side of campus with parts to a 22mm rifle and dozens of rounds of ammo in his bag. Court records also indicate the student was in a meeting at Southeast with his parents about a recent school suspension, when he left the building upset and a school resource officer followed him. The student apparently demanded his father come unlock the vehicle so he could get his backpack.
Court documents say the father then went through the student’s belongings and found what appeared to be parts to a rifle. The student says he didn’t intend to use the gun or to harm anybody. He was put in the Youth Services Center…
