Lincoln residents may see some LPD officers showing their support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month during October. Captain Max Hubka says after last year’s initial Pink Patch Project, they decided to allow officers to wear the patches on their uniforms.
Lincoln residents can also support the cause by purchasing pink patches. LPD and First Responders Foundation Lincoln are selling patches for $10 with every dollar going to the Heartland Cancer Foundation, a local non-profit that provides financial assistance to cancer patients undergoing treatment in the city.
Hubka says the first year of Pink Patch Project in 2024 was a big success. “We were able to donate $2,500 to the Heartland Cancer Foundation, which I think was very good for our first year. The patches can be purchased with cash, check or Venmo. They are for sale at the Hall of Justice and at all three LPD team substations through the end of October or while supplies last…
