Lincoln cultural centers secure $15M for new facility, seek community support

LINCOLN, Neb — The Cultural Centers of Lincoln Collaborative (CCLC) in Lincoln, Nebraska, announced it has secured $15 million in public and private commitments for its capital campaign. The funds will be used to construct a new 62,000-square-foot shared facility at 21st and Vine Streets. The CCLC, a partnership among the Asian Community & Cultural Center, El Centro de las Américas, Good Neighbor Community Center, and Malone Community Center, aims to promote cultural empowerment through collaboration, education, and advocacy.

The new facility will be built on a long-vacant site owned by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, developed through a long-term land lease with partners WRK, LLC and Woodbury Corporation. The Cultural Centers will sublease two acres of the 16-acre site. Will Scott, Principal of WRK, expressed excitement about the project, stating, “This creative and forward-thinking use is exciting and positions the Cultural Centers to grow capacity and serve even more people in Lincoln.”
