600 Pounds of Pot Found During Lancaster County Traffic Stop

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says a New Jersey man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after the Criminal Interdiction Unit found 600 pounds of marijuana in an enclosed trailer he was pulling.

Chief Deputy Ben Houchin says 36-year-old Erisner Moreno was driving eastbound on I-80 near 40th Street when a deputy spotted his pickup following another vehicle too closely. After making contact with Moreno, Houchin says deputies found evidence of criminal activity.

“They had a K-9 do a sniff and they found in the trailer a hidden compartment and once they got it open they found 609 pounds of marijuana.” Houchin believes the pot was on it’s way to New Jersey, where the drugs were worth more than $1 million…
