Nebraska eyeing major WR commit from Penn State fallout

If Matt Rhule doesn’t leave the Nebraska football program for Penn State, his plan could be bringing the Nittany Lions program to Lincoln. More accurately, he’s looking to get some of the best players that were recently committed to State College to Memorial Stadium, including wide receiver Khalil Taylor.

Taylor, like 5-star running back Kemon Spell, helped make up one of the best recruiting classes in the 2027 class. Also like Spell, Taylor decommitted from the Nittany Lions just hours after they fired James Franklin. And once again, like Kemon Spell, Taylor is now considering the Huskers as one of his eventual landing spots.

Nebraska football targeting former Penn State commits as 2027 class heats up

On3 analyst Bryan Munson reported on Monday that Khalil Taylor plans on visiting Nebraska on October 25 when the Huskers face off against Northwestern. Considering that Spell is interested in NU but hasn’t set a visit, there could be a chance Rhule and Co. could have a 2-for-1 weekend with the former Penn State commits.

Taylor is considered a four-star recruit according to Rivals. He is also the No. 60 recruit and the No. 11 wide receiver in the nation, as well as the No. 4-ranked player from Pennsylvania in the 2027 recruiting class. He was the third-highest-ranked recruit in the Nittany Lions’ 2027 class, which ranked No. 2 in the country, until they lost all their commits. He was the only wide receiver on board…
