LINCOLN, Neb — The Lincoln Police Department (LPD) has released the results of a September enforcement project aimed at improving vehicle and pedestrian safety in downtown Lincoln and surrounding neighborhoods. Funded by a grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office, the project allowed officers from the LPD Southwest Team and Traffic Enforcement Unit to work overtime.
The enforcement effort resulted in 252 traffic stops, leading to 293 citations and 121 warnings. Among the citations, 66 were for speeding, 25 for seatbelt violations, and 32 for lack of insurance.
