Lincoln women’s barbershop chorus carries on family legacy

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The Lincolnaire Chorus has been sharing four-part harmonies in Lincoln for more than five decades, with mothers and daughters carrying on its musical legacy through volunteering their voices and time.

Karen Randall directs the barbershop singers, which includes her sister, Linda Larson. Their mother joined the chorus in 1981 or 1982 when Randall was in high school.

“It’s kind of a family thing,” Randall said. “My sister and I used to run the spotlights for the chorus shows when my mom was in it, and I always knew I’d eventually sing with them.”…
