Puppy found starving in Nebraska City field given new lease on life

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A puppy rescued in a field near Nebraska City is now on the mend thanks to the Capital Humane Society.

On the brink of death – that’s how Capital Humane Society Executive Director Matt Madcharo described Zephyr’s condition before being rescued.

“Probably she was 24 to 48 hours away from passing away from the condition she was in, due to the lack of nutrition and starvation and so she needed a lot of intensive care,” Madcharo said…
