‘Welcome home’: City of Lincoln honors Maroon 5 lead guitarist with street renaming

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The city of Lincoln is honoring Maroon 5’s lead guitarist with a temporary street renaming ahead of their concert at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Tuesday.

Two commemorative signs that say “James Valentine Blvd.” were posted at the intersection of Canopy and R streets in the Railyard to honor the Lincoln native and Lincoln Southeast graduate. The signs will remain up until Wednesday.

“Few things bring people together like great music, and Lincoln is thrilled to celebrate one of our own taking the stage once again at Pinnacle Bank Arena,” Gaylor Baird said. “Honorarily renaming Canopy Street is our way of saying ‘welcome home’ to James Valentine and recognizing that his hometown talent continues to inspire fans around the world.”…
