OMAHA, Nebraska – As Thanksgiving travel nears, Nebraska officials are reminding drivers to prepare vehicles now for winter driving conditions. From Omaha to Lincoln, motorists are being encouraged to take advantage of early November’s mild weather to complete maintenance and stock emergency supplies before snow, ice, and high winds return later this month.
According to the Nebraska Department of Transportation, now is the best time to inspect tires, test batteries, and replace wiper blades before the first major cold snap. Drivers are also advised to carry a winter emergency kit — including a blanket, flashlight, jumper cables, bottled water, snacks, and traction materials such as sand or kitty litter…
