Capital Humane Society Accepting Pet Food Donations as Demand Increases

The Capital Humane Society says the pause in SNAP benefits has led to many families struggling to feed their families and their pets. Nadia Postec is the Director of Animal Welfare and tells KLIN News they are trying to accommodate as many pet owners as possible.

“During the month of November, we are opening our Paws Pet Pantry to anyone who needs emergency pet food.” She says they have already seen an influx of people coming in and fielded many phone calls from people seeking help.

“A lot of people have to allocate those resources to feeding their kids and feeding themselves,” Postec says. “If we’re able to help a family just a little bit and make their day a little easier, that’s what we want to do.”…
