Officer-Involved Shooting Investigation in Lincoln

Lincoln, NE- The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Lincoln Police Department, are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred earlier this week in Lincoln.

Earlier Wednesday morning, members of the Metro Area Fugitive Task Force were looking for 41-year-old John Massa, who was the subject of an arrest warrant in connection with a felony of narcotics and firearm possession case. He was also believed to be armed and dangerous.

Task Force members determined that Massa was located at a hotel the previous night. Shortly before 8:45 a.m., Massa left the hotel and entered the backseat of a vehicle, which was later to be proven a rideshare that was not associated with the subject. The vehicle was stopped by Task Force members, including a Nebraska State Trooper and United States Deputy Marshal, as it was attempting to turn westbound on Cornhusker…
