A recent report from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Bureau of Sociological Research shows that most Nebraskans rate their health as good. The report also finds differences in health ratings based on income, employment, and education. The 2024 Nebraska Annual Social Indicators Survey collected responses from 2,232 adults statewide.
The survey found that 79% of Nebraska adults rated their health as excellent or good. About 21% described their health as fair or poor. These results were similar across age groups and between men and women. However, income and employment status were linked to differences in health ratings.
Among people earning more than $100,000 a year, 90% reported excellent or good health. For those with incomes below $50,000, 56% reported the same. Employment status showed a similar trend.
