LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A candle left burning in a basement is suspected to be the cause of a fire in southeast Lincoln on Saturday, according to Lincoln Fire and Rescue spokeswoman MJ Lierman.
Lincoln Fire and Rescue were called to a home near 48th Street and Normal Boulevard at 7:42 p.m.
Lierman said the fire started in the basement while the residents weren’t home. She said an unattended candle was left burning in the basement, and it’s believed to have started the fire…
