The University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL) recently announced plans to eliminate four academic programs and drop 51.5 positions as part of a plan to save $27 million.
The programs being cut include Educational Administration; Earth and Atmospheric Sciences; Statistics; and Textiles, Merchandising, and Fashion Design.
“There are currently hundreds of students enrolled in these programs,” said UNL’s Educational Administration associate professor, Sarah Zuckerman. Zuckerman went on to say, “…We don’t have answers for them,” adding that ultimately these cuts could hurt Nebraska’s ability to keep in-state students…
