Robbery victim rescued by bus driver after assault on Lincoln streets, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Police have arrested a man who allegedly assaulted and robbed a victim in their car before a bus driver helped rescue them.

On Nov. 11, Lincoln Police were dispatched to an assault occurring at Y Street and Antelope Valley Parkway. The caller reported that they witnessed the passenger in the car driving ahead of them swing and punch at the head of the driver, causing the car to abruptly stop and swerve several times, court documents show.

Approximately 13 minutes later, officers were dispatched to Southeast Community College on a report of assault. According to the arrest affidavit, a StarTran bus driver told police she witnessed the passenger of a vehicle stopped in front of her “beat the crap” out of the driver…
