LPD Says Family Dispute Led to Shooting That Critically Injured Man

Lincoln Police have released more details in a shooting inside an apartment near 9th and Park Avenue Saturday afternoon that critically wounded a 29-year-old Omaha man. Captain Ben Miller says officers arrived around 4:00 and began CPR on the 29-year-old man.

“The preliminary investigation determined that there was a series of altercations between two family members that occurred throughout the day and ultimately led to the shooting.” Miller says the victim suffered a single gunshot wound.

“He is in the hospital on life support and is not expected to survive.” Miller says they are working to determine whether the 34-year-old man was acting in self defense. Miller says he was the one who called 911 after the shooting…
