Lincoln Public Schools Highlights Sydney Weddleton’s Role Supporting Gifted Students at Prescott and Everett Elementary

This week, Lincoln Public Schools (LPS) recognizes Sydney Weddleton, a gifted facilitator in the curriculum department. Weddleton works at Prescott and Everett Elementary Schools as a gifted facilitator and itinerant teacher. She also contributes to district-level curriculum projects. Colleagues, including Kaylee Urbanovsky from Prescott Elementary, note her creativity, flexibility, and collaborative approach in supporting high-ability learners and the school community.

Weddleton began her career in education ten years ago. Her father, a teacher until his retirement in 2024, influenced her decision to enter the field. She observed the impact educators have on students and families, which led her to teaching. Weddleton now works with students on individualized learning and assists teachers who work with gifted students.
