UNL’s American Association of University Professors announces ‘Week of Action’ to protest proposed budget cuts

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The University of Nebraska-Lincoln chapter of the American Association of University Professors announced a “Week of Action” began Monday to oppose the $27.5 million in budget cuts proposed by UNL’s chancellor.

The campaign will culminate in a “Pack the Boardroom” rally at the crucial University of Nebraska Board of Regents meeting on Friday, Dec. 5 and tell the Regents to “Stop the Cuts.”

Chancellor Rodney Bennett made the proposal announcement Sept. 12, with more than $27.5 million in planned eliminations and reductions, including getting rid of programs in meteorology, landscape architecture and statistics…
