County Attorney Not Filing Charges Against Lincoln Man In Shooting Death of Older Brother

LINCOLN–(KFOR Dec. 9)–No charges are being filed at this time against the suspect in the Dec. 4 shooting death of a 24-year-old Lincoln man at the Casey’s General Store off of 13th and “E” Street.

That word coming Tuesday morning from the Lancaster County Attorney’s Office, as their investigation into the shooting death of Jarell Wheeler continues.

The suspect, 23-year-old Emanuel Greenwalt-Claypool of Lincoln was arrested for second-degree murder, use of a firearm to commit a felony and second-degree assault. A news release from the County Attorney’s office says based on the evaluation of the applied charges and applicability of self-defense under Nebraska law, they have determined no criminal charges will be filed against Claypool at this time and will be released from custody…
