Volunteer organization hosts cleanup event to reduce pollution in Lincoln community

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) -Volunteers from the Omaha branch of Asez Wao, a global organization affiliated with the Church Of God and dedicated to creating a cleaner, safer and less polluted planet, was back in Lincoln on Sunday. Dozens of volunteers bundled up along the edges of Salt Creek at Wilderness Park, gloved hands putting grabbers to work to fill trash bags for their latest clean up event.

“Despite the cold weather it really warms my heart to be able to come out and contribute in this way,” Andres Flores, who has been a member of Asez Wao for four years, said.

Sunday’s weather meant more layers, but no less people than usual…
