LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A Lincoln man was sentenced Wednesday to years in jail after beating and violently throwing around a 10-month-old boy.
Joseph Liebers, 22, was sentenced to three years behind bars after being found guilty of intentionally committing child abuse resulting in no injury. Upon release, he will have to undergo 18 months of supervision and pay a $10,000 fine.
Officers were called to the area near North 59th Street and Cleveland Avenue on June 20 after a 20-year-old woman made a report of several belated assaults.
She told officers she’d been staying with Liebers for about two weeks alongside her 10-month-old son. They had no issues with him in the first week, but police said he would become aggressive toward the woman and her child…
