LINCOLN, Neb. — The Lincoln Police Academy marked the graduation of its latest recruits in a ceremony emphasizing service and dedication to the community. Held at Southeast Community College, the event was attended by Lincoln Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird, Chief Michon Morrow and other city officials.
Mayor Gaylor Baird expressed gratitude to the recruits, saying, “This is a moment you’ve been waiting for. It’s a moment you’ve been working for since you first applied to our police academy.” She highlighted the recruits’ diverse backgrounds, noting their origins from places as varied as Puerto Rico and Plymouth, Nebraska, united by a shared purpose of public service.
