There’s been caution exercised with TJ Lateef as he works back from a hamstring injury to play in a bowl game in 13 days.
There’s not caution, however, when it comes to Nebraska coaches believing in what he can do as a quarterback. Already a trending topic, it moved to the top of list in conversations within the fan base now that it’s known Dylan Raiola intends to move on from the Husker program.
“We have a great quarterback in TJ Lateef …” Matt Rhule said on ‘Sports Nightly’ on Wednesday. “What he did at UCLA, our team rallied around him. They played to his energy and I think everyone could feel that. Came back against Penn State, we didn’t play very well on defense. But if you go back and watch that game, you see a guy in TJ that wasn’t intimidated, that moved around the field and made plays with his feet. Ran for a touchdown, converted two third downs with his feet, made some huge throws down the field to Jacory.”…
