LINCOLN, Neb — Nebraska prepares for its New Year’s Eve bowl game against Utah without quarterback Dylan Raiola, as the program adjusts to life after its former starter entered the transfer portal while recovering from a leg injury.
Raiola was not going to play in the bowl game, regardless, as he recovers from his leg surgery, but his decision to leave the program marks a notable transition for the Huskers as they evaluate their quarterback future. Head coach Matt Rhule said he remains grateful for Raiola’s time in Lincoln and wished him well moving forward.
“I’m unbelievably grateful for Dylan and his family,” Rhule said. “I love my time with Dylan. He’s going to go on to great things. I’ll always cheer for him.”…
