LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Record warmth and record cold temperatures on Christmas Day happened a long time ago for Lincoln. The records for precipitation and snowfall happened a bit more recently.
Heading into the holiday week, it looked like record warmth was possible to challenge records from the 1800s. Yet fog has now spoiled some of that “fun.”
More widespread fog will impact holiday travel throughout Christmas Day for much of the eastern half of the state.
A Dense Fog Advisory will be in effect through Thursday evening. Reduced visibility down to a 1/4 mile, if not less, is likely during holiday travel.
- South-central Nebraska: in effect until 6 p.m. Thursday evening
- Eastern Nebraska: in effect until 8 p.m. Thursday evening
Patchy areas of drizzle and low clouds will stick around well into Thursday night.
Skycast shows that blanket of fog and low clouds holding pretty firm throughout Christmas Day, making for lasting and dreary conditions…
