Shelter opened for residents affected by downtown Lincoln apartment fire

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The American Red Cross has opened a shelter at Lincoln High School to provide assistance to those displaced by Monday morning’s apartment fire in downtown Lincoln.

Around 5:30 a.m., LFR received a call regarding an apartment building on fire in the area of 12th and G streets.

Emergency crews arrived on scene, immediately noting flames coming through the roof of a four-story apartment building, and quickly began fighting the fire with search and evacuations taking place…
