LINCOLN, Neb. — The Lincoln Children’s Museum celebrated the new year with a unique twist, hosting a countdown at noon instead of midnight. The event featured a massive balloon drop from the upper level, releasing 2,400 balloons over three stories. Ellie Charter noted, “Today is a very special day for attendance, we’re anticipating between 800-1,000 guests, which is not normal for us although winter break when school is out is always a busy time.”
This marked the first balloon drop since the COVID-19 pandemic.
The celebration drew around 1,000 attendees, including 8-year-old Rory, who shared, “When everyone counted down from 10 at the end,” with excitement…
