Nebraskans embrace fitness resolutions for 2026, aiming for lasting change

LINCOLN, Neb. — As the new year begins, fitness centers in Nebraska are bustling with activity, reflecting the top New Year’s resolution for many: getting fit. Liza Mendoza House, owner of LP Fitness Transformative Center in Lincoln, noted the surge in attendance, saying, “Obviously, New Year’s is one of the busiest days. People are reflecting and wanting to make changes. We have about 100 coming through, I’m back-to-back with meetings all day, but I’m ok with it.”

According to multiple sources, including activewear company Sundried, 95% of resolutions are fitness-related, yet only 10% of people maintain them past March. Mendoza House emphasized the importance of accountability, stating, “We’re not a big box gym. We’re not your $10 a month gym, so it can feel a little different cause we’re calling to ask why you don’t show up and that doesn’t really happen other places.”
