New pediatric vaccine schedule ‘not based in evidence’ as physicians brace for confused families

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Recent changes to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services childhood vaccine schedule have resulted in confusion among medical professionals, with some pediatricians expressing concern about the impact on public health.

U.S. health officials eliminated seven vaccines from the childhood vaccine schedule, including flu, hepatitis A and B, meningitis and RSV vaccines.

While CDC recommendations have changed, pediatricians at Complete Children’s Health in Lincoln said they will use the American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines, which continue to recommend those vaccines…
