Lincoln daycare reopens after child allegedly left in cold garage, license suspended

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A Lincoln daycare accused of leaving a child inside a cold garage as punishment is back open following the conclusion of an investigation conducted by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

According to court documents filed on Jan. 9, DHHS rescinded an Emergency Order suspending Children’s Circle Montessori School’s licenses based on the findings of the investigation. The child care center was instead given one year of probation and ordered to pay a $125 civil penalty, with terms and conditions.

That includes submitting a written plan to DHHS which addresses changes to policy and procedure regarding the supervision of children, as well as punishments and time outs…
